During the presentation Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding, unveiled the new “all red” livery of the Desmosedici GP with which Jack Miller, 26 years old Australian riders and Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia, a 24-year-old from Turin, will face their first season as official riders of the Borgo Panigale house in the MotoGP World Championship.

The iconic ducati red color returns to be the protagonist of the livery of the two bikes on which the Lenovo logo stands out, which becomes title partner of the Italian team with a three-year agreement. A technology leader in the PC market, smart devices, data centers, services and software solutions, Lenovo has been ducati’s sponsor and partner since 2018. During the last three seasons the multinational company has contributed, as Technical Partner, to the development of new strategies and innovations related to the world of competitions and, thanks to the new agreement, will guarantee increasing support to the official Ducati team, which from this year will therefore take the name of Ducati Lenovo Team.

The 2021 season, which despite the persistent health emergency due to the Covid-19 pandemic currently has 19 confirmed grand prix, will officially start on March 5th in Qatar on the occasion of a first day of testing reserved for testers and riders, in which Michele Pirro will participate with the Ducati Test Team. From 6 to 7 March, it will instead be the turn of Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia, who will take to the track for the first time with their new team on the Losail International Circuit for the first two official test days 2021, followed by another three days of free practice, from 10 to 12 March, also in Qatar. The Doha track will also be the stage for the first two events of the year, which will be held as usual at night, from 26 to 28 March and from 2 to 4 April.

Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati Motor Holding:It is always a great emotion the beginning of a new sports season, which we face with dedication and passion driven by the cheering of Ducatisti all over the world. We start again strong of the World Constructors’ Title won last year despite the complexities that forced us to overcome obstacles and situations that we had never experienced before. In 2021 there are many news and the first concerns Lenovo, who has already accompanied us for years but from 2021 becomes the Title Partner of the official Ducati MotoGP team. The numbers on the dome of our new bikes also change, beautiful in their red color. Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia are riders and talented riders who make us look at this season with optimism. They, together with all the other young riders on our bikes, are the most obvious example of the strategy undertaken by the Racing Company: an advanced technological incubator in continuous evolution where the most sophisticated materials are tested, the most innovative design methods and where we grow young engineers, in order to provide our customers with bikes always at the state of the art with regard to technology and the emotionality of use. We look forward to the start of the season on 28 March in Qatar and as always #ForzaDucati”.

Luca Rossi, Senior Vice President of Lenovo:The global motorsport market is expected to continue to grow by 10% annually until 2025 (1) , driven in part by the role it is playing in a world such as two-wheeled competitions, increasingly based on data usage. For this reason, Lenovo and Ducati, two brands that share fundamental values such as speed, performance and innovation, have chosen to raise their partnership to the highest level. Lenovo’s mission is focused on intelligent transformation and, thanks to our technological integration, we look forward to supporting the Ducati racing team to further increase its competitiveness in MotoGP in the years to come”.

Luigi Dall’Igna, Ducati Corse General Manager:The start of a new season is always a special and exciting moment and this year it will be even more so, because we will have a completely renewed team. We will have with us two riders, Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia: both are equipped with an extraordinary talent, they are young, but they already have a lot of experience on our bike. Jack and Pecco have great potential and I believe that together we can fight not only to defend the constructors’ title won in 2020, but also for the riders’ riders This year’s regulation did not allow us to modify some components of the bike, but we were still able to work on other aspects during the winter to try to get ready at the beginning of the new season with an even more competitive bike. From 2021 we can also count on even more significant support from Lenovo, our partner since 2018 and with whom we have collaborated very well in the past seasons. I am convinced that together with them we will be able to achieve great results and to make all ducatisti excited and entertained during the new season”.

Jack Miller (#43, Ducati Lenovo Team):The emotions I felt seeing my all-red Desmosedici and wearing my new jumpsuit for the first time were truly incredible! I have yet to realize that this year I will race in the official Ducati team. It took a long journey to be able to get here and finally dressing in red instills a strong sense of gratification, as well as give me the right motivation to continue working with commitment and dedication towards my future goals. I look forward to this new adventure and will try to achieve some important results this season.”

Francesco Bagnaia (#63, Ducati Lenovo Team):It will be a very important season for me, because for the first time I will wear the colors of an official team. I am proud to have achieved this first goal and this year I will try to aim even higher in terms of results. Being part of the official Ducati team has always been my dream: I will try to give my best not to disappoint expectations, sure to have everything you need to be competitive right away and be able to aim high”.
