Ducati records the best third quarter ever

Despite the complex global situation, Ducati recorded the best third quarter of sales ever with 14,694 bikes sold.

  • The third quarter closes with 14,694 total bikes delivered worldwide
  • In all, 4,468 bikes were delivered in September, of which Panigale, Scrambler
    ®
and Multistrada were the best-successful families
  • China, Switzerland and Germany, from the beginning of the year to the end of September, recorded sales higher than the same period of 2019

In fact, the month of September confirmed the recovery trend that began in June, with the delivery to customers of 4,468 motorcycles.

Also strong in the positive market trend, Ducati began the recovery of the decline in performance recorded in the first months of the year, going from June to bridging part of the sales differential compared to the previous year.

2020 is an extremely complex year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In this context Ducati, putting the safety of its employees first, immediately adopted all the necessary preventive measures (smart working and production stoppage of 6 weeks right at the peak of the season) reacting flexibly and quickly to the changes imposed by the pandemic.

The Borgo Panigale motorcycle company then made the most of digital systems to continue to serve its enthusiasts (for example with the virtual presentation of the Streetfighter V4 and scrambler
®
1100 PRO). Since April 2020 it has also introduced a dedicated protocol – the Ducati Cares – so that Ducatisti could return to visit their trusted Ducati dealers safely, or could interact digitally to book an appointment or evaluate the purchase of a motorcycle remotely.

Smart working and digital events to protect security first of all. These issues, with the progressive deterioration of the current situation, have returned to the agenda in Borgo Panigale. In fact, the launch of the new Ducati products of the Model Year 2021 will take place online, with a new series format every Wednesday starting from November 4th until December 2nd.

“Although 2020 is a stormy year, the thirdquarter recorded the best performance ever”, says Claudio Domenicali, CEO of Ducati. “The situation is getting worse again, just when we are about to present to the world the news of 2021 that we have worked with great determination despite the difficulties introduced by the pandemic. Once again we are forced to redefine working methods and processes to keep the attention to the safety of our employees, suppliers and insiders high. Digital presentations, use of smart working and video meetings, entry into the Company only if strictly necessary. All with the aim of staying as close as possible, in the safest way, to Ducatisti all over the world”.

Ducatisti that to date can count on a global sales network that includes about 730 dealers and service points in almost 90 countries, including the latest openings in Rio de Janeiro, Vienna, Wolfsburg and Antwerp. Ducati Motor Holding now has a total of 1,665 employees.

“All of us are required to make continuous efforts to reconcile work needs with compliance with the security measures defined by the internal Task Force in relation to the correct behaviors to be adopted in the Company and at Ducati dealers – added Claudio Domenicali – For this reason I want to thank all the employees, suppliers and dealers who in such unpredictable times continue to react quickly to market demands and to adapt in a timely manner to the situation that evolves daily”.
