I have always been ducatista in the soul, but unfortunately, for various reasons, not in the bike that (alas) has always been Japanese. Now, finally, I have the chance and the great desire to get one that I would buy only for the track. My intentions had turned to the 749 Dark,so as to have a cheaper basis (compared to an S or an R) on which to make the changes that I consider most appropriate. With what maximum mileage would I like to buy it? 31,000 km is too much?

Dear Giuliano, the Dark version is an excellent starting point, as long as you pay the right. In fact, for use on the track you will find yourself forced to replace much of the standard components with another more specialized and suitable. Mileage is not a problem if all the required periodic maintenance deadlines have been met.

However, it must be considered that by purchasing a motorcycle with more than 30,000 km it is necessary to budget a “large” coupon, which, in addition to the usual routine interventions, includes the replacement of the straps, the verification of valve games, the revision of the fork and the replacement of all working liquids, including those of the brakes. A factor to keep in mind, in economic terms, at the time of purchase.
